Adam was just a few months away from completing his Emergency Medicine Residency program when COVID-19 hit New York, NY. Life as Adam knew it changed forever as he and his graduating class navigated the overwhelming and unprecedented circumstances that ravaged the city. Shift after shift Adam rode the subway to work and back with the previous day weighing heavy. But, he also took with him the bravery, sacrifice and resilience of his colleagues, which he says he will never forget.

WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP – IF YOU EVER FEEL THAT WAY – WHAT DO YOU DO TO RISE ABOVE? I wish I could say that I always pick myself up, but the truth is I work in an emergency room with an amazing team of co-residents, attendings, nurses, techs, and security personnel that are always there to help me back up when I stumble. So my advice would have to be to surround yourself with incredible people if you can, or get a job at my hospital.
